Tue Jan 28 22:40:00 UTC 2025: ## Argentina and Brazil Victorious in South American U-20 Championship

**Valencia, Venezuela** – The South American Under-20 Championship continued its exciting run on January 26th with key wins for Argentina and Brazil.

Argentina, after a dominant 6-0 victory in their opening match, battled to a 1-1 draw against Colombia. Oscar Perea gave Colombia the lead in the 33rd minute with a skillful finish, but Claudio Echeverri, scoring his third goal of the tournament, equalized for Argentina minutes later. Despite Argentina’s control of possession, Colombia’s speed and physicality posed a significant challenge. The match showcased the contrasting styles of the two teams, with Argentina’s technical prowess against Colombia’s quick counter-attacks. The draw leaves Argentina atop Group B with four points, one ahead of Brazil.

In the other Group B match, Brazil overcame a strong challenge from Bolivia, securing a 2-1 victory. Goals from Gabriel Moscardo and Breno Bidon put Brazil in control in the first half, despite a strong performance by Bolivian goalkeeper Fabián Pereira. Guilmar Centella’s goal for Bolivia in the second half briefly reignited the match, but Brazil held on for the win. The result places Brazil second in Group B with three points. Colombia earned their first point, while Bolivia remains winless.

The tournament, taking place in Venezuela, is divided into two groups. The top four teams from each group will qualify for the U-20 World Cup in Chile this September and October. Group A matches continue on Monday with Chile facing Peru and Uruguay playing Paraguay.
