**THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, January 29, 2025** – By-elections for 30 local body wards in Kerala will be held on February 24th, the State Election Commission announced Wednesday. The model code of conduct is now in effect for the affected areas.
Polling will take place from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., with vote counting scheduled for February 25th, according to State Election Commissioner A. Shajahan. The by-election notification will be issued on January 30th, with nominations accepted until February 6th, scrutiny on February 7th, and the final date for withdrawing nominations set for February 10th.
The by-elections will cover one corporation ward (Sreevaraham in Thiruvananthapuram), two block panchayat wards, three municipal wards, and 24 grama panchayat wards. A total of 80 polling booths will be set up for the approximately 60,617 voters (32,087 women and 28,530 men).
