Wed Jan 29 15:24:04 UTC 2025: ## Kerala CM Accuses UDF of Forming Anti-LDF Alliance with Extremist Groups and BJP

**Kozhikode, Kerala –** Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Wednesday accused the United Democratic Front (UDF) opposition of forging a broad alliance with extremist organizations and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to unseat the Left Democratic Front (LDF) government. Speaking at the CPI(M)’s Kozhikode district conference, Vijayan claimed the UDF was simultaneously collaborating with groups like the Jamaat-e-Islami and the Social Democratic Party of India, while also aligning with the BJP. He asserted that the public would recognize this strategy and reject it.

Vijayan further criticized the Congress party for its inconsistent opposition to the BJP at the national level, arguing this had facilitated BJP victories in several state assembly elections. He cited the Congress’s lack of cooperation with anti-BJP forces in states like Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, leading to BJP’s return to power. He extended this criticism to the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, where he alleged the Congress is actively opposing the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the main anti-BJP force, rather than uniting against the BJP.

The Chief Minister also denounced the University Grants Commission’s draft regulations on teacher appointments as a BJP attempt to “saffronize” the education sector.

Meanwhile, the CPI(M) district secretary’s working report reportedly expressed concern over the party’s declining vote share in Kozhikode during the recent Lok Sabha elections, despite increased membership and infrastructure. The conference, which concludes Friday, will include delegate discussions and a new district secretary election.
