Wed Jan 29 15:00:00 UTC 2025: ## Clemson Tigers Baseball Set for 2025 Season with High Expectations

**Clemson, SC –** The Clemson Tigers baseball team enters the 2025 season with high hopes, aiming for a College World Series appearance after back-to-back 44-win seasons and a regional championship victory in 2024. Preseason rankings place the Tigers as high as No. 8 nationally.

Returning All-Americans and a strong coaching staff, led by Erik Bakich, whose teams have amassed the 11th most wins nationally over the last two years, provide a solid foundation. While the Tigers must replace several key players drafted to the MLB, including All-American Blake Wright, a significant portion of the 2024 starting lineup returns.

Key returning players include All-American Cam Cannarella in center field and junior pitcher Aidan Knaak, named National Freshman Pitcher-of-the-Year in 2024. The team also boasts a strong core of returning infielders and outfielders, alongside several promising transfers and highly-touted freshmen.

The 2025 schedule includes 33 home games and a season-opening tournament in Arlington, Texas – Clemson’s first regular-season games outside the Eastern Time Zone since 2005. The ACC Tournament returns to Durham, NC.

Clemson’s pitching staff will be led by Knaak and features a mix of experienced returners and talented newcomers, with significant depth added through both returning players and transfers. The catching position will also see competition between returning players and several incoming freshmen.

With a blend of experienced talent and promising newcomers, the Clemson Tigers are poised for another strong season, setting their sights on a deeper postseason run.
