**Palakkad, Kerala, January 28, 2025** – A 19-year-old college student died in a scooter accident in Palakkad town on Tuesday morning. Akshara, a second-year undergraduate at VLB Janakiammal College of Arts and Science in Coimbatore, was returning from dropping her younger brother at school when her scooter collided with a road divider at Koppam Junction.
Police reports indicate that Akshara attempted to avoid a container truck, resulting in the collision. Despite wearing a helmet, the impact caused it to break, and she sustained fatal injuries. Akshara is survived by her parents, M. Jayakrishnan, an SBI employee, and Vidya.
