**ANN ARBOR, Mich. (January 25, 2025)** – The University of Michigan men’s basketball team will take on Penn State in a highly anticipated Big Ten matchup this Monday, January 27th, at Crisler Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. and will be broadcast live on the Big Ten Network.
The game will be a “Blue Out,” encouraging all fans to wear blue in support of the Wolverines. Free blue pom-poms will be distributed to attendees while supplies last. The Michigan Dance Team will provide halftime entertainment.
Michigan (14-5, 6-2 Big Ten) enters the game seeking revenge after dropping their last two contests against Penn State (13-7, 3-6 Big Ten). The Wolverines boast a strong home record against the Nittany Lions, holding a 23-3 advantage in Ann Arbor, though their last home game against PSU was a win in January 2023.
The Wolverines are currently performing exceptionally well offensively. They rank second in the Big Ten and eighth nationally in field goal percentage (50%), with Vladislav Goldin leading the charge, ranking eighth nationally and third in the conference with a 63.8% field goal percentage. Michigan also excels in assists, averaging 17.9 per game – third in the Big Ten and 12th nationally. Tre Donaldson and Danny Wolf lead the team’s assist efforts.
All five Michigan starters average double-digit points, with Goldin leading the pack at 16.3 points per game. Wolf is also a key contributor, ranking 18th nationally and second in the Big Ten in rebounding (9.8 rpg) with eight double-doubles on the season. Goldin recently showcased his improved long-range shooting against Northwestern, hitting a career-high three three-pointers. The Wolverines will look to leverage their offensive firepower and home-court advantage to secure a victory against Penn State.
