**Melbourne, Australia** – The Australian Open 2025 concluded with a record 19 trophies awarded, including the inaugural boys’ and girls’ wheelchair singles and doubles events. Jannik Sinner successfully defended his men’s singles title, defeating Alexander Zverev in straight sets. In a thrilling women’s singles final, Madison Keys secured her first Grand Slam title, upsetting defending champion Aryna Sabalenka in three sets.
The men’s doubles title went to Harri Heliovaara and Henry Patten, while Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend won the women’s doubles. Olivia Gadecki and John Peers took the mixed doubles title in an all-Australian final.
The junior events saw victories for Henry Bernet (boys’ singles), Wakana Sonobe (girls’ singles), Maxwell Exsted and Jan Kumstat (boys’ doubles), and the Penickova twins (girls’ doubles).
The wheelchair events also saw exciting finishes. Alfie Hewett secured his second Australian Open title in men’s wheelchair singles, and Yui Kamiji won the women’s wheelchair singles. Sam Schroder won the quad wheelchair singles title for the fourth consecutive year, and he and Gordon Reid won the men’s wheelchair doubles. Andy Lapthorne and Schroder won the quad wheelchair doubles. The inaugural junior wheelchair events saw victories for Charlie Cooper (boys’ singles), Vitoria Miranda (girls’ singles), Luiz Calixto and Charlie Cooper (boys’ doubles), and Luna Gryp and Vitoria Miranda (girls’ doubles).
Tennis Australia acknowledged the event was held on Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country and paid respects to Elders past and present and all First Nations people. The organization also announced it will no longer support Internet Explorer as a browser for accessing the Australian Open website.
