Tue Jan 28 21:10:00 IST 2025: ## Samson’s Sharp Eye Secures Crucial Wicket for India in Rajkot T20I
**Rajkot, India** – Sanju Samson’s astute observation and persuasive skills proved crucial for India in their third T20I against England at the Niranjan Shah Stadium on Tuesday. The wicketkeeper’s insistence on a review overturned an on-field not-out decision, leading to the dismissal of England captain Jos Buttler.
Buttler, attempting a reverse sweep off Varun Chakaravarthy, appeared to nick the ball, but the umpire remained unconvinced. Samson, however, was certain and successfully convinced captain Suryakumar Yadav to utilize the Decision Review System (DRS). The UltraEdge showed a faint spike, confirming the edge and sending Buttler back to the pavilion for 24 runs. This was particularly significant after Samson had earlier incorrectly persuaded Yadav to review a failed LBW appeal.
The dismissal marked the fourth time in seven innings that Chakaravarthy has dismissed Buttler in T20 cricket. The Indian spinner has a strong record against the England captain, having dismissed him four times in 48 balls faced, despite Buttler scoring 76 runs overall.
The match also marked the return of pacer Mohammed Shami to the Indian team after a year-long absence due to an ankle injury. He replaced Arshdeep Singh, who was rested for the Rajkot encounter. Suryakumar Yadav won the toss for the third consecutive time, opting to bowl first. England remained unchanged from their previous match.
