Tue Jan 28 14:50:00 UTC 2025: ## India’s Bishnoi Outpaces England’s Rashid in Early T20I Career

**CHENNAI, INDIA** – Indian leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi is making a significant impact on the international T20 scene, surpassing even the early career performance of England’s Adil Rashid. While Bishnoi’s recent performances in the ongoing England series haven’t yielded wickets (0/22 and 0/27 in his last two appearances), his consistent tight bowling and sharp fielding have solidified his position as a key player for India.

The 24-year-old Rajasthan native has quickly risen through the ranks, establishing himself as India’s premier leg-spinner in the shortest format. His impressive wicket-taking ability, highlighted by a career-best 4/13 against Zimbabwe, has led to comparisons with Rashid.

A statistical comparison of their first 39 T20I matches reveals Bishnoi’s superior impact. Bishnoi boasts 56 wickets at an average of 19.62 and an economy rate of 7.24, including two four-wicket hauls. In contrast, Rashid managed 38 wickets at an average of 25.42 in his first 39 matches. While Rashid’s career has continued to flourish (128 wickets in 121 matches), Bishnoi’s early success showcases his potential to become a dominant force in the world of T20 cricket.

Bishnoi’s journey began with a stellar performance at the 2019-20 U19 World Cup, where he took 17 wickets. His IPL success with the Punjab Kings cemented his place in the Indian team, and his debut against the West Indies (2/17) marked the start of a promising international career. Currently ranked No. 5 in the ICC T20I bowler rankings, Bishnoi is one of only two Indians in the top 10.

Both Bishnoi and Rashid are lauded for their wicket-taking prowess, but the numbers clearly indicate Bishnoi’s stronger early-career performance in T20 Internationals.
