**Washington D.C.** – President Donald Trump has denied reports that Elon Musk, head of the newly formed Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), has an office within the West Wing of the White House. In a press briefing aboard Air Force One on Saturday, Trump stated unequivocally that Musk does not have an office in the Oval Office complex.
Instead, Trump explained that a separate office, housing approximately 20-25 people, has been established for DOGE operations. This office, designed to ensure the swift execution of executive orders, is located outside the main White House complex. According to *The Times*, Musk’s senior leadership team will be based in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, situated on White House grounds but a short distance away.
The clarification comes after reports suggested Musk was eyeing an office within the West Wing. Trump emphasized the office’s purpose is to expedite the implementation of policies, contrasting it with what he characterized as bureaucratic delays.
The creation of DOGE, announced in November, is a key initiative of Trump’s “Save America” movement. Its stated goals include streamlining government bureaucracy, reducing regulations, cutting wasteful spending, and restructuring federal agencies. While Trump and Musk have claimed potential savings of $2 trillion, this figure has been met with skepticism from experts who warn against drastic cuts to essential social programs. Last week, the White House formally renamed the United States Digital Service as the United States DOGE Service (USDS), placing it within the Executive Office of the President.
