**Bengaluru, January 28, 2025** – Mysuru Lok Sabha MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, a member of the erstwhile Mysuru royal family, has refuted the Karnataka state government’s claim that compensating for Bengaluru Palace land acquisition would burden the exchequer. He asserts that the government need only provide Transfer of Development Rights (TDR) certificates, incurring zero cost to the state.

Wadiyar, speaking to reporters near Mysuru, accused the government of misleading the public regarding compensation. He clarified that while there may not be a formal stay order on the land acquisition, the courts have mandated a status quo, contradicting Law Minister H. K. Patil’s statement. The land acquisition is intended to widen roads near the palace.
