**Mayiladuthurai, Tamil Nadu, January 28, 2025** – The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted simultaneous searches at 15 houses in Thirumullaivasal village, Mayiladuthurai district, on Tuesday. The raids, which began around 6 a.m., were carried out by multiple NIA teams accompanied by local police.
The operation follows the recent arrest in Chennai of Al Pasith, accused of using social media to radicalize young people and recruit them for the banned terrorist organization ISIS. Police sources indicate the searches were conducted to investigate potential links between Pasith and residents of Thirumullaivasal. The NIA has not yet released an official statement regarding the raids.
