Tue Jan 28 13:21:09 UTC 2025: ## Veteran Tobacco Leader B.V. Javare Gowda Passes Away
**Mysuru, January 28, 2025** – B.V. Javare Gowda, president of the Federation of Virginia Flue Cured (VFC) Tobacco Growers’ Associations of Karnataka and former vice-chairman of the Tobacco Board, passed away on Monday. Gowda, a native of Periyapatna, had recently returned to India after attending the 39th annual general meeting of the International Tobacco Growers’ Association in North Carolina and visiting Canada. He is survived by his wife and two sons. His last rites will be held upon his wife’s return from abroad.
