Mon Jan 27 18:39:50 UTC 2025: ## Dhankhar Warns of National Security Threat Posed by Illegal Migrants

**New Delhi, January 27, 2025** – Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar today issued a stark warning about the national security implications of illegal immigration in India. Addressing Rajya Sabha interns, Dhankhar asserted that the presence of millions of undocumented migrants poses a significant challenge to the country’s sovereignty and its democratic processes.

He highlighted several concerns, stating that illegal migrants strain resources such as healthcare and education, compete with Indian citizens for jobs, and potentially influence the electoral system. Dhankhar emphasized that these individuals, due to their undocumented status, are unlikely to fully embrace Indian nationalism.

“Millions of illegal migrants are living in our land. How can a nation suffer illegal migrants in millions? Is it not a challenge to our sovereignty?” Dhankhar questioned, adding that “Such kind of people will never be wedded to our nationalism.” He urged the government to address this issue with urgency, stating that “This problem and resolution of it cannot be delayed even by a day.”

While expressing concern over the issue of illegal immigration, the Vice President also highlighted the positive developments in India, mentioning improved access to basic amenities like toilets, gas connections, internet, and better road and air connectivity as signs of progress for the Indian population.
