**Bengaluru, India –** Infosys co-founder Senapathy Kris Gopalakrishnan and 16 others, including former IISc Director Balaram, have been booked under the Prevention of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act in Bengaluru. The case stems from a complaint filed by Durgappa, a former IISc faculty member from the Bovi tribal community, who alleges he was falsely implicated in a honey trap case in 2014, subsequently dismissed from his position, and subjected to casteist abuse and threats. The complaint led a court to order the police to register the case at the Sadashiva Nagar police station. The accused also include several other prominent individuals from IISc. Neither IISc nor Gopalakrishnan has yet commented on the allegations. The news sparked a significant increase in online searches for Gopalakrishnan.
