**Dubai, UAE** – Jasprit Bumrah of India and Amelia Kerr of New Zealand were named the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Men’s and Women’s Cricketers of the Year, respectively, capping off a dominant 2024 for both players. The awards, announced Tuesday, add to a remarkable year for the pair, who each won two awards.

Bumrah, the Indian pace bowling maestro, earned the prestigious Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy, adding to his Men’s Test Cricketer of the Year award received just a day earlier. He was the leading Test wicket-taker in 2024 with a staggering 71 wickets at an average of 14.92. Bumrah expressed his gratitude, dedicating the award to his team, family and the cricketing community, highlighting the significance of winning the T20 World Cup earlier in the year.

Kerr, a New Zealand all-rounder, secured the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy, complementing her Women’s T20 Cricketer of the Year title from Saturday.

India’s success continued with Smriti Mandhana winning the Women’s ODI Cricketer of the Year award for the second time, and Arshdeep Singh taking home the Men’s T20 Cricketer of the Year award for his crucial role in India’s T20 World Cup victory. Afghanistan’s Azmatullah Omarzai won the Men’s ODI Cricketer of the Year award.

Other notable award recipients included Sri Lanka’s Kamindu Mendis (Men’s Emerging Cricketer of the Year), South Africa’s Annerie Dercksen (Women’s Emerging Cricketer of the Year), and Richard Illingworth (Umpire of the Year). Several Indian players featured in the ICC Men’s T20I Team of the Year, including Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, and Bumrah.
