Tue Jan 28 10:30:00 IST 2025: ## Infosys Co-founder Gopalakrishnan, Former IISc Director Among 18 Charged Under SC/ST Atrocities Act
**Bengaluru, [Date]** – A case has been filed against Infosys co-founder Senapathy Kris Gopalakrishnan, former Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Director Balaram, and 16 others under the Prevention of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (SC/ST) Atrocities Act. The charges stem from a complaint filed by Durgappa, a former IISc faculty member from the Bovi tribal community.
Durgappa alleges that he was falsely implicated in a “honey trap” case in 2014 and subsequently dismissed from his position at the Centre for Sustainable Technology at IISc. He further claims he faced casteist abuse and threats during this period. The 71st City Civil and Sessions Court directed the Sadashiva Nagar police station to register the case.
Other individuals named in the complaint include several former IISc officials and faculty. There has been no immediate comment from IISc or Gopalakrishnan, who also serves on the IISc Board of Trustees.
