**Bengaluru, January 28, 2025** – Bengaluru police have made significant arrests in two separate cases involving multiple thefts and robberies across the city.

In one operation, Kodigehalli police apprehended six members of an “Irani gang” responsible for at least 13 incidents of house break-ins, robberies, and chain snatching. The arrests followed an investigation launched after a house break-in in March 2024. Police recovered 450 grams of gold jewelry worth ₹28.5 lakh from the suspects, identified as Ali Siraj (51), Sadiq Rafiq (40), Abbas Ali (27), Abu Turab (55), Tabrej Ali (35), and Madhush (45). The gang’s activities spanned several police station limits, including Bagaluru, Amruthahalli, Sanjay Nagar, R.T. Nagar, Whitefield, Kadugodi, and Varthur.

Separately, KS Layout police arrested a woman from Salem, Tamil Nadu, and seized 125 grams of gold jewelry valued at ₹9 lakh. The woman, along with four accomplices, allegedly targeted devotees at the Banashankari temple, snatching gold chains amidst the crowds. Police apprehended her after monitoring the area following a complaint about a stolen gold chain. The recovered jewelry was found hidden at a friend’s house. Investigations into both cases are ongoing.
