**Belagavi, Karnataka, January 28, 2025** – The Income Tax Department conducted searches on the homes and offices of several prominent industrialists and businesspeople in Belagavi today. Among those targeted were Vinod Doddannavar, Pushpadant Doddannavar, Ashok Humbarawadi, and Ajit Patil. The Doddannavar and Humbarawadi families have known interests in mining and iron works.
The operation involved officers from the I-T commissionerate of Karnataka and Goa, supported by local police for security purposes. Authorities are currently reviewing seized documents, but the I-T department has yet to release an official statement regarding the nature or scope of the investigation. The police confirmed their role was limited to security.
