**Hyderabad, January 28, 2025** – A 22-year-old man, Ganapathi, succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday, succumbing to severe burns sustained in a fire that engulfed a boat and jetty on Hussain Sagar Lake during the ‘Bharatha Matha Maha Harati’ event on Sunday. Ganapathi suffered 100% superficial burns and was receiving treatment at Yashoda Hospital in Secunderabad before passing away at 10:05 a.m. Hospital authorities confirmed the cause of death as thermal burns, and his body has been transferred to Gandhi Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Two other individuals injured in the incident remain hospitalized in stable condition.
