**Mehsana, Gujarat –** A Republic Day gathering tragically ended in death after a prank involving a compressor pipe went horribly wrong, resulting in the death of a 30-year-old man. Prakash Vankar, visiting his cousins Alpesh Vankar and Ghevabhai Weaver in Mehsana, died after Alpesh inserted the rubber hose of a high-pressure air compressor into his anus.
The incident occurred at the metal company where Alpesh and Ghevabhai work. While workers were using the compressor to dry paint, Alpesh allegedly took the hose and, as a purported “joke,” inserted it into Prakash’s rectum. The high-pressure air caused Prakash to vomit and lose consciousness.
Despite being rushed to several hospitals, including Ahmedabad Civil Hospital, Prakash succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Police have registered a case against Alpesh Vankar for manslaughter. While Alpesh claims the act was a harmless prank, Ghevabhai’s statement to police indicates Alpesh was aware of the potential danger posed by the high-pressure air. The investigation is ongoing.
