ERODE, INDIA (January 28, 2025) – A total of 246 elderly and disabled electors in the Erode (East) Assembly constituency successfully cast their postal ballots ahead of the upcoming by-election, election officials announced today.
Of the 2,529 electors over 85 and 1,570 electors with disabilities, 256 initially expressed interest in using postal ballots. However, three electors passed away, one relocated, and ten ultimately did not vote. This resulted in 246 ballots being cast. The ballots have been secured in a strong room. Election officials clarified that those who registered for postal ballots but did not vote will be ineligible to vote on polling day.
