**New Delhi, January 28, 2025** – A Delhi court on Tuesday quashed the summons issued to Delhi Chief Minister Atishi in a defamation case filed by BJP leader Praveen Shankar Kapoor. Special Judge Vishal Gogne allowed Atishi’s appeal against a previous Magisterial Court order.
The judge accepted the argument from Atishi’s counsel that the alleged defamatory statement was directed at the BJP as a whole, not at Mr. Kapoor individually, thus failing to meet the criteria for defamation. The case, therefore, was dismissed.
