**Puducherry, January 27, 2025** – The Trust for Youth and Child Leadership (TYCL) launched a new mobile application designed to connect youth with mentors to help them achieve their life goals. The app, a key component of the “NKaNa” (My Dream; My Brother and My Sister) project, was unveiled by District Collector A. Kulothungan at a two-day workshop titled “Harvesting Youth Leaders 2025.”
The NKaNa project specifically targets children aged 12 to 17, pairing them with professionals who can provide guidance and support in realizing their aspirations. TYCL, a UN-recognized youth-led non-profit, emphasized the app’s role in facilitating these crucial mentorship connections.
The workshop itself, held in association with the Pondicherry Heritage Ladies Circle 187, focused on “Reframing Youth for Equity.” Over 50 participants aged 18 to 30 engaged in discussions on leadership, gender identity, social justice, and responsible media consumption. TYCL leaders Diwakar, A. Vaishali, and Seleen Roy led the sessions. District Child Protection Officer Jayapriya and Sheetal.K, president of SCOHD Society, were also present at the app launch.
