Tue Jan 28 03:48:50 UTC 2025: ## Son of Slain NCP Leader Implicates Builders, Politicians in Murder Probe

**Mumbai, January 28, 2025** – Zeeshan Siddique, former MLA and son of murdered NCP leader Baba Siddique, has implicated several builders and politicians in his statement to Mumbai police investigating his father’s death. The statement, included in a 4,500-page chargesheet filed against 26 individuals (with three more wanted), alleges a link between his father’s activism for slum dwellers’ rights and the October 12, 2024 murder.

Baba Siddique, 66, was shot dead outside his son’s office in Bandra East. Zeeshan Siddique claims his father faced constant harassment from developers involved in Bandra redevelopment projects, including one instance where a builder used abusive language towards his father. He further stated that many developers were in regular contact with his father regarding these projects, and that a false case was filed against him for opposing a redevelopment scheme.

The statement also highlights a WhatsApp contact between his father and BJP worker Mohit Kambhoj around the time of the murder, concerning a project by Mundra Builders. Zeeshan Siddique has urged police to thoroughly investigate these connections as part of the murder investigation.

All accused are charged under the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) and are currently in judicial custody. The case is before a special MCOCA court.
