Tue Jan 28 15:51:29 UTC 2025: ## Karnataka-Goa NCC Wins Prime Minister’s Banner at Republic Day Camp

**Mangalore, January 28, 2025** – The Karnataka-Goa Directorate of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) has achieved a significant victory, winning the prestigious Prime Minister’s Banner at the Republic Day Camp 2025 in New Delhi. The directorate secured the top spot among 17 competing directorates nationwide.

NCC cadet Hardik Shetty, a computer science student at Alva’s Institute of Engineering and Technology, received the award from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Shetty, one of five cadets from Alva’s Education Institutions representing Karnataka-Goa, excelled in various competitions, particularly drill activities. His contributions to the Guard of Honour, drill performances, cultural programs, and efficient management of the camp’s Line Area and RDC Flag area were instrumental in securing the win.

The Karnataka-Goa Directorate sent 124 cadets to the Republic Day Camp. Lt. Col. Rohit Rai, Administrative Officer of 18 Karnataka Battalion, praised the directorate’s achievement and highlighted Shetty’s exceptional performance. M. Mohan Alva, Chairman of the Alva’s Education Foundation, expressed immense pride in the institution’s NCC program and Shetty’s accomplishment.
