NAMAKKAL, January 27, 2025 – Village Administrative Officers (VAOs) in Tiruchengode taluk, Namakkal district, boycotted work on Monday to protest the alleged verbal abuse and harassment by a woman deputy tahsildar.
Seventy-four VAOs claim the deputy tahsildar subjected them to verbal abuse, imposed unreasonable work deadlines, and pressured them to work late into the night. Despite reporting the issue to higher officials, including the Tahsildar, no action was taken, prompting the work boycott and protest outside the Tiruchengode Tahsildar office. The VAOs have vowed to continue their protest until the deputy tahsildar is transferred.
