Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh: Paritala Sriram, TDP in-charge for Dharmavaram constituency, has alleged foul play in the death of Topudurthi Mahesh Reddy, whose body was found on railway tracks near Somaladoddi-Nagireddipalli. Sriram visited the mortuary at Anantapur Government Hospital and expressed his condolences to Reddy’s family.

Sriram claimed that Mahesh Reddy, described as a courageous young man, had been targeted by former MLA Prakash Reddy and his brothers since 2019. He alleged that the Reddys created false land disputes, filed false cases against Mahesh Reddy, and physically assaulted him multiple times. Despite pressure to implicate Sriram, Mahesh Reddy refused to cooperate, according to Sriram. He further stated that Prakash Reddy’s brother, Raja Reddy, had recently made threatening calls to Mahesh Reddy and his father, citing Facebook posts as evidence.

Sriram suspects that Mahesh Reddy’s death, initially being portrayed as suicide, is a cover-up and demanded a fair and impartial investigation by the police. He criticized the Reddys’ actions, highlighting the victim’s young age and the fact that he grew up in their village. Sriram stated that he will meet the Superintendent of Police and file a complaint at a higher level if necessary. The incident has caused widespread shock and grief in Topudurthi village and the constituency.
