**Bengaluru, January 27, 2025** – Bengaluru police announced the arrest of three individuals, including a 16-year-old juvenile, for allegedly robbing a goldsmith and his mother at gunpoint in their Chickpet home on January 24th. The accused, identified as Ajay Rao (24) and Sunil Singh (18) from Rajasthan, along with the minor, were apprehended following a police investigation that utilized CCTV footage and information gleaned from the juvenile.
The robbers, who forced entry into the house while the goldsmith’s father was out, overpowered the mother and son, bound them, and stole 28 grams of gold jewelry, including earrings and a chain, and ₹11,950 in cash. The victims were assaulted when they resisted.
Police recovered the stolen items, a country-made pistol, and three mobile phones from the suspects. The investigation is ongoing.
