Sun Jan 26 18:14:56 UTC 2025: ## Haryana Launches New Scholarship Scheme for Top Students

**Chandigarh, [Date]** – The Haryana government has announced a new scholarship initiative aimed at rewarding academic excellence in government schools. The “Education Excellence Encouragement (EEE)” scheme will provide a monthly scholarship of Rs 1,000 to the top-performing male and female student in classes 9-12 at each participating school. Eligibility requires a minimum of 60% marks in annual exams.

The program, a revival of a scheme originally launched in 2005-06, will see District Education Officers (DEOs) submit the names of eligible students by January 24th. District Education Officer Ajit Singh confirmed the rollout, stating that all schools have been notified.

This new initiative complements existing scholarship programs like the Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme, which offers higher amounts (Rs 2,500 for boys and Rs 3,000 for girls per month) for a period of 1-5 years, depending on the course duration. The Haryana government hopes this renewed focus on academic achievement will incentivize students and further improve educational outcomes.
