UDAIPUR, Rajasthan (January 27, 2025) – Rajasthan marked its 76th Republic Day with fervor on Sunday, January 26th. The state-level celebrations took place at Maharana Bhupal Stadium in Udaipur, featuring a flag-hoisting ceremony by Governor Haribhau Bagade. In his address, Governor Bagade lauded the state government’s achievements over the past year and highlighted the importance of upholding the Constitution. He emphasized India’s progress as the world’s largest democracy and its role as a model for other nations.
Three Rajasthan residents received the prestigious Padma Shri award: Begum Batool (folk music), Baijnath Maharaj (spirituality and interfaith dialogue), and Sheen Kaaf Nizam (Urdu literature). IPS officers Sachin Mittal and S. Sengathir were among those awarded the President’s Police Medal for distinguished service. The event included a Republic Day parade and cultural performances.
