**Salem, Tamil Nadu – January 27, 2025** – Police in Salem district have apprehended S. Chelia, alias Sandhanam, a fugitive wanted in connection with a 2019 murder case. Sandhanam, a resident of Mayiladuthurai, was one of four individuals arrested for the murder of a taxi driver and theft of his vehicle. While initially released on bail, he failed to appear in court for six years. A special police team was formed to track him down, ultimately leading to his arrest on Sunday. Sandhanam has been remanded to judicial custody.
