Mon Jan 27 08:04:38 UTC 2025: ## Injured Indian Cricketer Bumrah Receives Coldplay Shout-Out at Ahmedabad Concert

**Ahmedabad, India** – Injured Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah enjoyed a surprise appearance at Coldplay’s second Ahmedabad concert on Sunday, January 26th. The concert, live-streamed on Hotstar, saw the band pay special tribute to the cricketer, who is currently recovering from a back injury.

Coldplay’s lead singer, Chris Martin, not only acknowledged Bumrah’s presence in the audience to thunderous applause but also dedicated a few lines of song to him, jokingly referencing Bumrah’s impressive performance against England, singing, “O Jasprit Bumrah, my beautiful brother. The best bowler in the whole of cricket. We did not enjoy watching you destroy England, wicket after wicket.”

This wasn’t the first time Coldplay has shown their appreciation for Bumrah. During their Mumbai concert, they displayed a video of Bumrah’s impressive bowling performance against England and Martin even jokingly read a “legal notice” from Bumrah’s lawyers regarding the use of his name. The band further highlighted their admiration by displaying Bumrah’s signed Test jersey on stage in Ahmedabad.

Bumrah’s appearance at the concert provided a welcome moment of respite for the cricketer, who is currently sidelined from the Indian team due to a back injury sustained during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. His return to the field is uncertain, with his participation in the upcoming Champions Trophy depending on his recovery progress. Chief selector Ajit Agarkar has stated that Bumrah’s availability for the group stage will be fitness dependent. While the cricketer was clearly enjoying a break from the rigors of professional cricket, his presence at the Coldplay concert left Indian cricket fans delighted.
