**Mumbai, India** – Jasprit Bumrah has been named the ICC Test Cricketer of the Year for 2024, beating out strong competition from Joe Root (England), Kamindu Mendis (Sri Lanka), and Harry Brook (England). This is Bumrah’s first ICC Test Cricketer of the Year award and makes him the sixth Indian cricketer to receive the honor. He achieved this remarkable feat after taking a record 71 wickets in 13 Test matches throughout the year. Bumrah was also selected for the ICC Test Team of the Year 2024.
In the women’s category, Smriti Mandhana won the ICC Women’s ODI Cricketer of the Year award for 2024. She beat out Lara Wolvaardt (South Africa), Chamari Athapaththu (Sri Lanka), and Annabel Sutherland (Australia). This is Mandhana’s second time winning the award, having previously won it in 2018. Her stellar performance in 2024 included 747 runs in 13 matches at an average of 57.46, which included four centuries and three half-centuries.
Azmatullah Omarzai of Afghanistan was named the ICC ODI Cricketer of the Year in the men’s division.
