**NEW DELHI, January 27, 2025** – Amid ongoing negotiations for the sale of BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles, Indonesia’s Navy Chief Admiral Muhammad Ali visited BrahMos Aerospace Private Limited in New Delhi today. Admiral Ali, part of a high-level delegation accompanying Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, met with BrahMos CEO Dr. Jaiteerth R. Joshi to discuss strengthening bilateral defense cooperation. The delegation was briefed on the BrahMos system’s capabilities.

The visit follows advanced-stage negotiations for a $450 million deal, which would make Indonesia the second export customer after the Philippines. The Philippines signed a $375 million deal in 2022.

Admiral Ali also held talks with Indian Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi to enhance maritime cooperation, focusing on initiatives like Exercise Samudra Shakti and tackling shared maritime challenges like piracy. His visit included tours of several Indian naval establishments, including the Information Fusion Centre – Indian Ocean Region (IFC-IOR). President Subianto was the Chief Guest at India’s Republic Day Parade on Sunday.
