Mon Jan 27 02:05:59 UTC 2025: ## India Dominates Bangladesh in U19 Women’s T20 World Cup, Secures Semi-Final Spot

**Bayuemas Oval, [Date]:** India secured a commanding eight-wicket victory over Bangladesh in their ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup Super Six Group 1 match today, topping the group standings and securing a semi-final berth with a game to spare. A rain delay earlier in the day did not affect the match length.

After winning the toss and electing to bowl, India’s bowlers restricted Bangladesh to a meager 64/8 in their 20 overs. Vaishnavi Sharma was the star performer with the ball, taking 3/15, while Sumaiya Akther top-scored for Bangladesh with 21 runs. India’s disciplined bowling attack, which included contributions from Shabnam, VJ Joshitha, and Trisha Gongadi, kept Bangladesh constantly under pressure, reducing them to 23/5 at the halfway mark.

Chasing a modest target, India made light work of the chase, reaching 66/2 in just 7.1 overs. Gongadi Trisha led the way with an unbeaten 40, including eight boundaries. Despite the loss of opener Kamalini G, Trisha’s aggressive batting ensured a comfortable victory. Captain Niki Prasad finished the match with a boundary.

Vaishnavi Sharma was awarded the Player of the Match for her impressive bowling figures. India will face Scotland in their final Super Six match on Tuesday.
