Sun Jan 26 19:29:33 UTC 2025: **Bomb Threat on IndiGo Flight Turns Out to Be False Alarm**

Chennai, January 27, 2025 – An IndiGo flight from Kochi to Chennai was briefly grounded Saturday night after a passenger falsely claimed to have a bomb on board. The incident occurred around 9:55 p.m. on flight 6E 6904, carrying approximately 170 passengers. According to sources, a dispute between 35-year-old Chennai resident Dayvis John and a co-passenger, Elia Kazan (holding US and French passports), escalated with John’s bomb claim.

The pilot immediately alerted Chennai Air Traffic Control, prompting the deployment of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and a Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad. Upon landing at approximately 11 p.m., the aircraft was taken to an isolation bay for a thorough security check. Authorities found no explosive devices.

Following the examination, both John and Kazan were handed over to the CISF for investigation into their breach of security regulations. IndiGo confirmed the incident in a statement, highlighting the prioritization of the flight’s landing and the safe disembarkation of all passengers and crew. The airline emphasized that thorough checks were conducted before the aircraft resumed normal operations. The investigation into the false bomb threat is ongoing.
