Sun Jan 26 19:14:52 UTC 2025: ## Hyderabad Metro to Pay ₹80 Crore in Additional Compensation

**Hyderabad, January 27, 2025** – The Hyderabad Airport Metro Rail Limited (HAML) is expediting the disbursement of an additional ₹80 crore in compensation to property owners affected by the construction of the 7.5-km Old City Metro stretch. This compensation, to be paid within days, is linked to the scrutiny of ownership documents for affected properties along the MGBS to Chandrayangutta route. Demolition of compensated properties is already underway, with 270 owners voluntarily handing over their land.

HAML managing director N.V.S. Reddy announced this during Republic Day celebrations, also revealing that detailed project reports (DPRs) for five Phase II metro corridors, including airport connectivity, have been submitted to the central government. Further DPRs for Medchal and Shamirpet corridors are also in progress, following Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s vision. The CM has also requested the Union Housing and Urban Development Minister to expedite approval of the DPRs to enable swift construction of the metro extensions.
