**Vijayawada, January 27, 2025** – The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) is poised for a technological upgrade and anticipates significant growth, according to Managing Director Ch. Dwaraka Tirumala Rao. Speaking at the Republic Day celebrations, Rao revealed plans to introduce over 1,000 new buses, including electric vehicles, reflecting Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s vision for the corporation’s future.

Rao highlighted the APSRTC’s impressive performance, noting the daily service to nearly 60 lakh passengers using 11,246 buses. The corporation recently added 698 new buses and 654 hired buses to its fleet, replacing older vehicles. Furthermore, the corporation’s cargo division generated ₹150 crore in revenue, while solar roof plants implemented across the network achieved annual savings of ₹27 lakh. Record profits were also reported during the recent Sankranti festival, demonstrating increased public patronage.

The APSRTC’s commitment to modernization extends to the implementation of cashless payment systems for improved financial management. The corporation is also actively participating in the state government’s initiative to provide free bus services for women, with a delegation recently visiting other states to study successful models.

Rao praised the dedication of APSRTC employees, emphasizing their collective efforts in providing affordable and accessible transportation, even in remote areas. He concluded by reiterating the corporation’s commitment to passenger satisfaction as its primary goal.
