**Awka, Anambra State –** The Anambra State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced March 28th, 2024 as the date for its governorship primary election. The election is in preparation for the main gubernatorial election scheduled for November 8th, 2025.
This decision, according to Anambra APC chairman Chief Basil Ejidike, was reached following a meeting of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) and aligns with discussions held recently between political party leaders and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu.
Dr. Valentine Iyke-Oliobi, the party’s spokesperson, emphasized the importance of timely planning and communication with INEC to ensure compliance with electoral laws.
Ejidike pledged a free, fair, and credible primary election, aiming to maintain party unity among the four declared aspirants: Sir Paul Chukwuma, Chief Azuka Okwuosa, Prof. Obiora Okonkwo, and Evangelist Nicholas Ukochukwu. He expressed confidence that this approach will ensure victory for the APC in the 2025 gubernatorial election.
