Mon Jan 27 11:22:41 IST 2025: ## Udupi Police Arrest Bagalkot Man for Child Sexual Harassment
**Mangalore, January 27, 2025** – Udupi police have arrested a 35-year-old man from Bagalkot district, Karnataka, for allegedly sexually harassing a five-year-old girl. The accused, identified as Muttu, a resident of Hungund taluk, was apprehended on January 26th near the Udupi Krishna Mutt.
The incident reportedly occurred on January 16th. Muttu, who was begging in Udupi, lured the child with the promise of chocolates before allegedly attempting to touch her inappropriately. The girl’s screams alerted others, causing the accused to flee.
Udupi police subsequently released CCTV footage of the suspect to the media and social media, leading to his identification and arrest. Police described Muttu as a nomad with no permanent residence in Udupi. The investigation is ongoing.
