**VISAKHAPATNAM, January 27, 2025** – Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) officials conducted raids across the city on Sunday, seizing approximately 240 kg of chicken, 43 kg of mutton, and 110 kg of fish. The action was taken in anticipation of Republic Day celebrations, with the GVMC having issued prior instructions prohibiting the sale of meat and fish. Violators were fined a total of approximately ₹16,000, according to GVMC Veterinary Officer N. Kishore Kumar.
