**Nellore, Andhra Pradesh –** A 21-year-old man, Shaik Shahid, has been arrested for the murder of his former lover’s father, Shaik Mahaboob Basha (53), in Nellore, police announced Monday. Basha had called off his daughter’s engagement to Shahid after discovering Shahid’s criminal record and alleged bad habits.
According to Nawabpet Circle Inspector Shaik Anwar Bhasha, Shahid, angered by the broken engagement, repeatedly threatened Basha, culminating in a fatal stabbing on Saturday, January 25th. Basha was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
Based on a complaint filed by Basha’s wife, Shaik Karimunnisa, Shahid was arrested and charged under Section 103 (1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). He appeared in court on Monday. The case highlights the tragic consequences of relationship disputes and underscores the seriousness of violent threats.
