VIJAYAWADA, January 25, 2025 – NTR District Collector G. Lakshmisha and Police Commissioner S.V. Rajasekhar Babu today stressed the importance of voter participation in a democracy, urging all eligible citizens to exercise their right to vote. Speaking at a rally marking National Voters’ Day, they highlighted voting as a fundamental right and a powerful tool for societal change. Collector Lakshmisha emphasized the crucial role of youth in a healthy democracy and announced an upcoming voter registration program commemorating the Election Commission of India’s formation in 1950. Commissioner Babu echoed these sentiments, calling on all citizens aged 18 and above to participate and promote voter awareness. The officials flagged off the rally from the old Government General Hospital in Vijayawada. Collector Lakshmisha also received the ‘Best Electoral Practices’ award from Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand.
