**Aspen, Colorado –** Nineteen-year-old Hiroto Ogiwara of Japan has etched his name into X Games history, winning the men’s snowboarding big air gold medal with a groundbreaking performance. Ogiwara landed the first-ever 2340 (a backside six-and-a-half-revolution trick) at Aspen’s Buttermilk Ski Resort, scoring a remarkable 97.33 points. This victory came ahead of defending champion Hasegawa Taiga (silver, 94.66 points) and New Zealand’s Rocco Jamieson (bronze, 91.33 points), both competing in their X Games debuts.

Organizers confirmed Ogiwara’s 2340 mute grab as a world first for both snowboarding and skiing. “I am the first in the world to do that. I’ve never been as happy as this,” Ogiwara said after his historic run.

Already a dominant force in junior snowboarding, Ogiwara boasts an impressive track record, including wins at the All Japan Junior Ski Championship and World Rookie Finals in both 2021 and 2022. His previous accomplishments include landing the world’s first BS Quint Coke 2160 at The Nines in Switzerland.

In the women’s slopestyle, New Zealand’s Zoi Sadowski-Synnott secured gold with 94.66 points, followed by Kokomo Murase of Japan (silver, 90.33 points) and Mia Brookes of Great Britain (bronze, 88.33 points).
