Sun Jan 26 16:50:10 UTC 2025: ## Kerala Youths Arrested in Coimbatore After Attacking Police Officer
**COIMBATORE, January 26, 2025** – Two Kerala youths were arrested in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, on Sunday after one of them attempted to stab a police Sub-Inspector. Albin Thomas of Thiruvananthapuram and Mohammad Suvali of Thrissur were apprehended near the Textool bus stop following a chase.
The incident occurred at Gandhipuram when Sub-Inspector Karthikeyapandian, of the Katoor Police Station Crime Branch, confronted the suspects for suspicious behavior. Thomas allegedly pulled out a knife and slashed the Sub-Inspector’s lip before fleeing the scene.
A special police team tracked down the duo, who sustained leg injuries while allegedly attempting to escape by jumping from a bridge. They were admitted to the Government Hospital.
Police investigations revealed both suspects have prior criminal records in Kerala and had travelled to Tamil Nadu seeking employment in Tiruppur. A knife and an anesthetic spray were recovered from their possession.
