Sun Jan 26 04:00:33 UTC 2025: ## Akshay Kumar’s ‘Sky Force’ Soars on Day 2, Doubling Box Office Collection

**Mumbai, India** – After a string of box office disappointments, Akshay Kumar’s latest film, “Sky Force,” is showing promising signs. The film, which reportedly has a budget of ₹160 crore, witnessed a significant jump in its second-day box office collection, doubling its earnings from the first day.

According to early estimates from Box Office tracker Saknilk, “Sky Force” raked in ₹12.25 crore on its opening day (₹19 crore worldwide). On day two, the film’s collection surged by 75.51%, reaching ₹21.50 crore, bringing the two-day total to ₹33.75 crore.

While the film’s ultimate success remains uncertain given its high budget, the substantial increase in collections offers a glimmer of hope for Kumar, whose last major hit was “Sooryavanshi” in 2021. That film, also directed by Rohit Shetty, had a similar budget and ultimately grossed ₹293 crore worldwide. In contrast, several of Kumar’s recent releases, including “Selfiee,” “Ram Setu,” and “Bachchan Pandey,” underperformed. However, his cameos in films like “Singham Again” and “Stree 2” significantly contributed to their box office success.

The strong start of “Sky Force” is particularly noteworthy given the competitive landscape. Last year, “Fighter,” starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, earned ₹358.83 crore worldwide against a budget of ₹250 crore, also released on Republic Day. Whether “Sky Force” can replicate this success remains to be seen, but early indicators suggest a positive trend for Akshay Kumar in 2025.
