Sun Jan 26 18:14:52 UTC 2025: ## Six-Year-Old Kidnapped at Chennai Station Rescued in Andhra Pradesh
**Chennai, January 27, 2025** – A six-year-old boy, Sakib Uddi, who was kidnapped at Chennai Central railway station on January 12th, has been rescued by the Government Railway Police (GRP) in Andhra Pradesh. Three women have been arrested in connection with the abduction.
According to GRP officials, the boy’s mother, Sajitha Begum, had arrived in Chennai from Assam in search of work. After Sakib was kidnapped, Begum reported the incident to the GRP and traveled to Kerala.
The GRP launched an investigation, reviewing CCTV footage which led them to identify five women suspected of abducting the child. They tracked the women to an Andhra Pradesh-bound train headed for New Delhi. The Central Railway Special Task Force subsequently rescued Sakib near Nazarethpet railway station in Guntur district.
Police are working to bring the rescued boy and the three arrested women, including Saraswati Sajjawati, believed to be part of a begging gang, back to Chennai for further investigation. The investigation is ongoing.
