MUMBAI, INDIA – A surprising development has emerged in the ongoing investigation into the assault of Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan. While Mumbai police have been actively pursuing the case against suspect Shariful Islam, fingerprint evidence collected from the crime scene does not match the suspect’s prints, according to national media reports.

The incident occurred in the early hours of January 16th when an intruder, identified as Islam, allegedly attacked Khan at his Bandra home. A forensic team collected nearly 19 fingerprints from the scene, none of which matched Islam’s. Police are now considering re-examining the crime scene to collect additional samples.

Despite the fingerprint mismatch, the investigation continues. Police have collected blood samples from Khan and clothing he was wearing at the time of the attack, sending them to a forensic laboratory for analysis. Preliminary investigations suggest that Islam intended to burglarize the home, but the situation escalated into an assault. Bloodstains found on the suspect’s clothing are also being analyzed to confirm their origin.

The Mumbai police are committed to thoroughly investigating this case and bringing the perpetrator to justice. The discrepancy in fingerprint evidence adds a layer of complexity to the ongoing investigation.
