Sat Jan 25 18:40:00 UTC 2025: ## India to Showcase Military Might and Cultural Heritage at Republic Day Parade

**New Delhi, January 25, 2025** – India is gearing up for a spectacular Republic Day celebration on January 26th, marking the 76th anniversary of the nation’s founding and the 75th anniversary of the Constitution’s enactment. The event, themed “Swarnim Bharat: Virasat aur Vikas” (Golden India: Heritage and Development), will feature a grand parade down Kartavya Path, showcasing India’s military prowess and rich cultural heritage.

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto will be the chief guest, making him the fourth Indonesian President to attend the celebrations. The parade will include a contingent from Indonesia, alongside 16 tableaux from states and Union Territories, and 15 from central ministries.

A highlight will be the display of cutting-edge defence platforms, including the BrahMos, Pinaka, and Akash missile systems, as well as the first-ever parade appearances of the Army’s Battle Surveillance System ‘Sanjay’ and DRDO’s ‘Pralay’ surface-to-surface tactical missile. Other advanced military equipment such as T-90 ‘Bhishma’ tanks and the Arjun battle tank will also be showcased. The tri-services tableau will demonstrate the armed forces’ joint operational capabilities.

The parade will also feature a vibrant cultural performance by 300 artistes playing “Sare Jahan Se Achha,” and a flypast involving over 40 Indian Air Force aircraft and Indian Coast Guard Dorniers. Two Param Vir Chakra awardees and one Ashok Chakra awardee will participate.

President Droupadi Murmu will address the nation on the eve of Republic Day, reflecting on the significance of the Constitution’s 75th anniversary. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead tributes to fallen martyrs at the National War Memorial before the parade commences. The 90-minute parade, commanded by Lt Gen Bhavnish Kumar, promises a captivating display of India’s journey and achievements.
